COVID Financial Assistance for Farmworkers

The UFW Foundation is happy to announce that applications for the USDA’s Farm and Food Worker Relief (FFWR) Grant Program are now being accepted. Through this program, farm workers who qualify will receive a one-time relief payment of $600.

If you worked as a farm worker from January 27, 2020 to the present day and were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, you may be eligible for this relief payment. In order to qualify, workers must self-certify they incurred expenses due to the pandemic and will need to provide proof of identification and proof of employment. These can include a state ID, driver’s license, UFW Foundation ID, employer issued ID, Consular ID, paystubs, W-2 tax forms, photographic evidence at worksite, or letter from employer. Please know there is no cost to apply for the Farm and Food Workers Relief (FFWR) program and immigration status is not a factor.

How to Apply:

  1. Call the UFW Foundation call center hotline at 877-881-8281.
  2. The call center service provider will ask you a series of questions to determine eligibility.
  3. The call center service provider will provide you with a list of documents that will be needed for the application process, including identity and employment verification.
  4. Submit the documents to UFW Foundation.
  5. A UFW Foundation team member will review the application and documents submitted. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application.
  6. If your application is approved, you will receive your relief payment of $600 through the mail.
