General Relief Data
General Relief (GR) is a program that provides assistance to adults age 18-64, with no dependent children, who have no other means of support. Eligible adults may receive short-term assistance in order to provide for basic living needs.

The General Relief program provides assistance to eligible adults who are deemed able to work, and those adults who are deemed unable to work due to a mental or physical disability. General Relief eligibility is determined within 45 calendar days of receipt of a completed application. Eligible participants may receive direct payments to their landlords and/or utility companies. General Relief payments are considered a loan and must be repaid.
The maximum benefit someone may receive is $310/month. Some individuals qualify for a reduced payment or $13/month towards incidental expenses.
