Parking Citation Program Information

Citation Reviews

If you have received a parking citation in the County of Ventura, you have the right to contest the citation if you believe it was issued in error. Per the California Vehicle Code, parking citations must be contested within 21 days of receiving the citation, or 14 days after a notice of delinquent parking has been mailed.

The General Services Agency processes parking citation review requests for citations issued by the following:

Parks Department
Ventura County Sheriff Office
California Highway Patrol
County of Ventura – Facilities Department (Campus Security for the Government Center and most County-maintained facilities; for healthcare, Airports, and Harbor, please contact those Agencies directly)

The form to request a citation review can be found here.

Please fill in all areas of the Parking Citation Review form. Be sure to include: Vehicle License Number, Citation Number, Violation, Citation Date, Issuing Agency, your complete contact information, and your statement. Include any supporting information, such as photographs or any other documentation that may help determine liability. Sign and date the form.

Return your completed form with a copy of your citation to the County of Ventura. You can return by email to: county.parks.citations@ventura.org. You can also mail your paperwork to:

Upon receiving a completed parking citation review request, the County will place a hold on the citation until a final decision has been made. You will be notified of the County’s decision by mail. For questions about parking citations, please call (805) 672-2002.

Payment Plans For patrons who are unable to pay the entirety of their citation fines at once, payment plans are available through the County’s payment processing vendor, Phoenix Group. Please click here to find out more.
