About

The Santa Rosa Valley Municipal Advisory Council holds public meetings once a month, on Thursday evenings, at Santa Rosa Technology Magnet School, and serves in an advisory capacity to inform Supervisor Gorell on matters of public safety, public works, public health, planning, and matters of public interest to the community.

MAC Members

Rosemary Alison - MAC Chair

In 2002, Rosemary spearheaded the drive to create the Santa Rosa Valley Municipal Advisory Council to ascertain that the residents’ voices are heard. As a Founding member of the Santa Rosa Valley MAC in 2003, and Chair of the Santa Rosa Valley Community Association prior to the formation of the MAC, Rosemary has always been a strong and clear voice that advocates the resident’s position on the issues that affect Santa Rosa Valley. Rosemary is passionately dedicated to philanthropic projects. She was recognized by the Philanthropic Society as Ventura County Volunteer of the Year and received the esteemed Community Service of the Year award from the Conejo Valley Board of REALTORS®. As quoted in a resolution presented by the Ventura County Board of Supervisors when she was recognized as Ventura County Volunteer of the Year: “Rosemary Allison is the yarn that weaves this close-knit community together, setting an example for residents of all ages on how a committed individual can work to change the world for the better.” In 2020, Rosemary was recognized by the California State Legislator as the Woman of the Year.

Amy Elliot - Vice Chair

Amy Elliott has been a resident of Santa Rosa Valley for the last 13 years. Amy joined the MAC board in 2020 and is currently Vice Chair and extremely honored to serve the SRV. She has had a career in international trade for 30 years and her passions include hiking the SRV, gardening, Big Sur rockhounding and traveling to their vacation home in Bocairent Spain.

Mark Burley - Member

Mark Burley has been a member of the SRV MAC since its inception in 2004. In the past, he has served as Chair of the council. Previous to that he served on the board of the Santa Rosa Valley Community Association. Mark is the founder and president of the 501(c)3 charity Santa Rosa Valley Trails Inc. He is happy to work on the MAC to maintain the rural and equestrian nature of Santa Rosa Valley and to continue promoting a safe and harmonious community.

Kevin Cannon - Member

Kevin has been a Santa Rosa Valley MAC member since 2013. He retired from Amgen in 2006 after a 30 year career in applied computer science and has been farming avocados at his home since 1995. Starting in 2005 he participated throughout the four-year long Santa Rosa Road Traffic Synchronization project as the volunteer Citizen Representative for the County’s Public Transportation department.

Michael Adams - Member

Michael Adams was elected to the Santa Rosa Valley Municipal Advisory Council in 2020. Michael is committed to maintaining the beauty and rural character of Santa Rosa Valley. Michael strives to bring the highest quality of living for Santa Rosa Valley residents, including a wide range of recreational opportunities and a well-maintained infrastructure.
