Somis Municipal Advisory Council

About

The Somis Municipal Advisory Council holds public meetings once a month, on Thursday evenings, at Somis School, and serves in an advisory capacity to inform Supervisor Gorell on matters of public safety, public works, public health, planning, and matters of public interest to the community.

MAC Members

Pat Richards - MAC Chair

Patrick Richards is a devoted Somis resident of 35 years. He has served as Chairman of the Somis Municipal Advisory Committee for the past four years. He currently holds the prestigious position of Chairman at the Ventura County Local Agency Formation Commission. Patrick earned his Master’s Degree in Urban Planning from Cal Poly Pomona and was a member of the American Planning Association. He is also a certified pilot and FAA aircraft mechanic. Presently, Patrick uses his skills at the Camarillo Commemorative Air Force.

Bob Fulkerson - Vice Chair

Robert was born and raised in Somis, representing 4 generations going back to 1860. His family has helped establish businesses, a blacksmith shop and a hardware store (1892). Currently, he is President of the Somis School board and sits on the Somis Municipal Advisory Council. He and his family are proud to have been part of the history of Ventura County since its inception.

Tyler Cobb - Member

Tyler Cobb, a lifelong Somis resident, is member of both the Somis MAC and the District 19 advisory committee. He is deeply involved in the agricultural community in Ventura County as a grower and a shipper of multiple commodities. He and his wife Dana and have two children, Grace (14) and Jack (11).

John “Jack” Foss - Member

Jack retired as a department head from the Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division at Point Mugu, prior to his appointment to the Somis MAC in March 2016. He enjoys serving on the MAC because it gives him insight into the things that directly affect the Somis community. His focus is to collect the thoughts and feelings of the community and reflect those wishes through the Somis MAC. He feels that the MAC is an excellent avenue to voice his community’s issues to our Ventura County Supervisor.

Patricia Martinez - Member

Patricia Martinez is a Compliance Manager at Marz Farms, a local agricultural company that specializes in growing berries. Previously, Patricia worked as a junior change management consultant at a boutique specialized in management consultancy. She graduated from Loyola Law School with an emphasis in Business Law and received her undergraduate degree from UC Davis in Managerial Economics.

Jennifer Amodei - Alternate

Raised in the foothills of Somis, Jennifer has a long-standing relationship with the community of Somis and passion to see it prosper. An owner of an acclaimed interior design studio, she takes her sense of esthetics and applies them to enhancing the beauty and functionality of Somis as an important part of furthering the legacy.
